Food For Change Film Screening

Join us at 7 p.m. in the co-op's classroom for a screening of Food For Change, an 82-minute documentary film focusing on food co-ops as a force for dynamic social and economic change in American culture. This is the first film to examine the important historical role played by food co-ops, their pioneering quest for organic foods, and their current efforts to create regional food systems. Additionally, the film shows how cooperatives today strengthen local economies and build food security. The goal is to educate a wide audience about the principles of cooperation with a focus on healthy food and a healthy economy. Read more about the film here.

$5 fee will be donated to April's Change recipient. Registration required. Register online here.

The Future Looks Bright

by Kelly Barth, Board Member

One of our Ends states that our co-op will be on the forefront of “Building a community based on hospitality, generosity and care for the environment.” To this end, your board of directors is learning about the potential of adding solar panels to our property. We are excited and hopeful for a number of reasons.

  • Depending on the scale of our project, we could generate a significant portion of the co-op’s annual electrical needs.
  • The project would pay for itself in a reasonable timeframe.
  • Solar energy would significantly reduce our carbon footprint.

Stay tuned to our website and to the Board’s Owner Connections emails for future updates on this “bright” new opportunity!
