Filming + Photography Inquiries
The Merc Co+op receives a number of requests for on-site filming and photography projects. While we enjoy offering an exciting location or backdrop for these projects, the needs, comfort and ease of access for our shoppers remains our top priority. Please see the guidelines below prior to contacting the co-op with your request. Please provide at least two weeks’ lead time for processing your request and making arrangements on site.
The Merc Co+op exhibits a number of large scale images of our student gardeners and local producers. The individuals displayed have granted the co-op legal permission to use their images within our store and advertising. However, that written permission does not include use or inclusion — accidental or otherwise — within other venues, films, mediums, etc. All filming within the co-op must be adjusted to ensure that the images of the student gardeners and local producers are not visible.
Co-op employees and shoppers may not be filmed without their written permission. If you think that anyone may appear or has appeared on film, we ask that you approach them with a release form to sign. If they do not wish to sign, please honor their preference and film around them and/or do not use that portion of film.
For copyright and trademark purposes, we ask that there is no inclusion of The Merc Co+op’s logo or slogan “Good. Local. Food.” shown on any film made on our property without the written permission of the co-op’s General Manager or Marketing Manager.
The Merc Co+op requests an insurance waiver from the production company. If no insurance waiver is available, the production company agrees to take full financial responsibility for any and all damage to the co-op grounds, building, equipment, fixtures and personal property.
The co-op’s store music is on an automatic shut-off and cannot be turned down or off at our whim. It is strongly recommended that you visit the store prior to see if the music will hinder your own sound efforts.
No filming is permitted in a manner that is disruptive to our shoppers or staff. Please note the current operating hours of The Merc Co+op:
