Class Instructor Application
Thank you for your interest in teaching at The Merc Co+op!
The mission of The Merc Co+op's class program will align with our Ends. The program will:
- Offer affordable educational experiences that promote fresh, local, sustainable and wholesome foods and food systems, as well as health and wellness,
- Support store sales through community relations and inspiration to purchase and knowledgeably use fresh, local, wholesome foods and products related to health and wellness,
- Provide a welcoming, inclusive environment for learning from diverse presenters with information that is current, researched, organized, and non-judgmental.
About the class program:
The Merc Co+op is collaborating with local organizations, educators, producers, and chefs to provide a variety of programs and opportunities for beginning home cooks to cooking enthusiasts. Are you a chef, skilled home cook, nutritionist, gardener or producer looking to share your skills with others? There are several ways presenters or organizations can partner with the co-op:
- PRIVATE ROOM USE — the classroom and kitchen are available for rental. See the classroom page.
- ENDORSEMENT — Endorsed classes are limited to presenters with whom the co-op has a relationship, partnership or previous experience, including but not limited to, past or current educators and producers.
- CO-HOSTED — The co-op handles registration, provides a budget for ingredients, and collaborates on topics and materials. Co-hosted options are limited.
- SPONSORED — This option is for events that are not-for-profit and no-cost or low-cost to the community. This tier is considered a community service by the co-op. The co-op may choose or advise the topic of the presentation. - Co-op class presenters are independent contractors, not employees of the co-op.
