MercShare: Co-op shoppers currently enrolled in Food Assistance Programs administered by the state of Kansas or Missouri are eligible for the MercShare ownership subsidy with an investment of just $10.

  • The co-op subsidizes the additional $65 to complete the full $75 cost of a share in the co-op.

  • MercShare owners receive the same rights and benefits as all other owners.

  • Expect confirmation and additional instructions from our Owner Services representative within 5–10 business days.

An ownership share belongs to the individual who signs the application. Only that person’s spouse, partner, children and other dependent household members may use the owner number when shopping. Only the signer may exercise the full rights of ownership. View a copy of our Shareholder Agreement and Bylaws.

  • Provide your ownership card or number to your cashier on each shopping trip to earn patronage pointsPatronage points are how the co-op tracks your participation within the co-op. Owners will receive patronage rebates proportional to the amount spent at the co-op during profitable fiscal years.

  • Enjoy your benefits and stay informed of specials and sales by keeping the co-op updated with your contact information including address, phone and email.

To become an owner of The Merc Co+op, I agree to purchase one $75 share | $10 MercShare share. Ownership grants voting rights and patronage benefits, when applicable, and is subject to the terms and conditions set forth in The Community Mercantile/The Merc Co+op Shareholder Agreement. En Español

In purchasing equity, I understand that: The ownership interest hereby subscribed for is intended to confer owner benefits in accordance with the co-op’s bylaws. Shares are not entitled to monetary return on capital, are transferrable only to The Merc Co+op, are redeemable only in accordance with The Merc Co+op's bylaws, and are subject to other terms and conditions of the bylaws.
