The Merc Co+op's Board of Directors is comprised of nine co-op owners who are elected by the general ownership and serve a three-year term. Any co-op owner can run for a board position. Participating in co-op elections is your ownership in action – get to know the owners who represent you!
Meet Dorri
My name is Dorri Rowan and I am a new board member. I have a human resources background and look forward in learning more about The Merc. I am a new grandparent to Aidan James, born December 2, 2019.
Why did you choose to run for the co-op board?
- I chose to run for the co-op board because I enjoy meeting new people and serving the community in which I live. 
What part of the co-op's mission do you connect with the most, and why?
- I connect with helping the community in which I live and providing a place to shop with healthy food choices. 
What's something you've gained from participating on this board?
- As a new board member I look forward in learning and enhancing my knowledge. 
What's one thing you hope the co-op achieves/works towards during your term as a director?
- To make Merc Co+op a name brand in Lawrence and Kansas City, Kansas. 
Why should owners consider becoming a director?
- It allows owners to learn and understand how decisions are made and learn about the operations of a co-op. 
What is your favorite food or product the co-op carries?
- The chocolate chip cookies are the best!
